Internship opportunities

The Agumbe Rainforest Research Station welcomes interns who share our commitment to rainforest conservation. The internship programme is a joint venture between Agumbe Rainforest Research Station and the National Centre for Biological Science (NCBS). The Programme is designed for young researchers and students who are pursuing a career in ecology and conservation. The internship programme focuses on giving participants ample field experience while working alongside experienced staff from both ARRS and NCBS. There are a few existing projects into which interns may be placed however we generally encourage interns to seek funding and initiate short term independent research projects which they can carry out while at ARRS. Positions are filled based on the availability of space and usually require a minimum commitment of one month. There is no fixed deadline for applications as this is a year round programme, however it is recommended to apply at least three months prior to your intended internship period. Applicants should send their complete CV and a statement of their research and conservation interests via email to arrs.india@gmail.com.

ARRS volunteer programme

The ARRS volunteer programme is open to people interested in learning and contributing to ecology and conservation. The programme is designed for people with limited or no research background. Volunteers are expected to assist with all aspects of the field station’s activities. Among these are research orientated work such as field data collection and data entry. Other activities such as education and outreach, fundraising, administrative work and maintenance related activities will also need to be undertaken to ensure smooth running of the station. Volunteer positions are made available as and when opportunities arise and a minimum commitment of 15 days is essential. People interested in volunteering should contact arrs.india@gmail.com for further information.
