Volunteerism provides an incredible platform to learn, grow and contribute directly towards conservation. We welcome anyone with a positive attitude, willing to work hard, and has a passion for conservation, to volunteer with us.
Volunteer activities:
Radio telemetry of king cobras
- Photographic inventories of flora and fauna
- Ecology of Draco dussumieri (Flying lizards)
- Amphibian population dynamics
- Canopy studies
- Tree planting and surveys.
- Organic agriculture at the station
- General maintenance
- C reation of educational material
- Socio economic studies
Rules:
The Volunteer/Visitor should be responsible and honest with ARRS at all times.
The Volunteer/Visitor should avoid media interviews during their time as volunteer/visitor with ARRS.
- The Volunteer/Visitor should not release any crucial information or pictures to any source (social networking sites on internet, press, and media) without written permission from ARRS staff. . Best to define who that staff member is.
- Copies of photographs/videos should be made available to ARRS for their biodiversity database, education and information (credit will be duly given if the pictures are used).
View wildlife from a safe distance and never handle any animal.
Do not collect any kind of flora or fauna, as it is all under protection of the Wildlife Preservation Act, 1972.
Avoid stressing species or exposing them to danger; exercise control, care and caution during observation, photography, sound recording, or filming
Acquaint yourself with the fragility of the ecosystem--stay on trails that are intended to lessen impact.
Ensure you are accompanied by a field assistant/local tracker at all times and never venture out alone.
For any infringements of the above rules, ARRS has the right to evict a visitor/volunteer from ARRS at any point of time.
